The Korea Center for Digital Humanities (KCDH) curated two successful sessions for Sookmyung Women’s University Students (Honors Program) recently. In order to extend our reach, we are targeting International students for whom the language does not mean an obstacle. In short our purpose is to engage them in productive activities and maintain a sustainable ecosystem of learning! South Korea has become an academic hub for Internationals Students over the past few years. In 2013, the number of International students exceeded the 100,000 mark. The Korean Government is extending their efforts to bring 200,000 students by 2020. Korea ranked in first place among 152 countries that were subjects of the survey in ICT development index announced by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). In light of the aforementioned remarks, we planned to hold a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) seminar for International students where we shall introduce top online courses, study groups, educational tools for studying online and various other study and career skills. Our primary purposes are to take advantage of the diversity and skills-set of International students so as to bring them one step closer to Korean students and to benefit from high internet speed and ICT infrastructure in Korea, as well as to create blended classroom / study groups with International and Korean students, who can help each other to learn and reach their learning objectives. One such example is on-going Python study group, which has around 12 members including both Koreans and foreigners.
